Lotto 6aus49 is Germany’s most popular lottery game, organized by Deutscher Lotto- und Totoblock (DLTB). It offers a maximum jackpot of 50 million euros. Drawings take place every Wednesday at 6:25 pm CET and every Saturday at 7:25 pm CET.
Lotto 6aus49 was officially introduced on 9 October 1955, using the 6/49 format where players select six numbers from 1 to 49. The Super Number (Superzahl) was added on 7 December 1991, significantly changing prize structures by introducing an additional number from 0 to 9. Since its inception, the game has undergone prize structure adjustments, but the 6/49 format remains unchanged.
Select Your Numbers
Choose 6 numbers between 1 and 49 (main numbers). The Super Number (Superzahl), a digit between 0 and 9, is automatically assigned as the last digit of the ticket’s serial number.
Winning the Jackpot
To win the Lotto 6aus49 jackpot, all 6 main numbers and the Super Number must match the drawn numbers.
Lower-tier prizes are available for matching fewer numbers.
Spiel 77 & Super 6 (Optional)
You can also participate in the optional Spiel 77 and Super 6 games, which are based on the pre-printed serial number on your ticket.
Matching digits from right to left determines the prize.
Spiel 77 is an additional lottery game that can be played alongside Lotto 6aus49. Players receive a 7-digit number, which is the ticket's serial number, and winnings are based on matching digits in the exact order from right to left. You win a prize if the last digit matches the drawn number, and the prize increases with more matching consecutive digits. To win the jackpot, all 7 digits must match. The jackpot starts at €177,777 and grows with rollovers. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 10 million.
Super 6 is another optional game where players receive a 6-digit number, which is the ticket's serial number. Like Spiel 77, prizes are awarded based on how many digits match the drawn number in exact order from right to left. Matching the last digit already secures a prize, and the reward increases as more consecutive digits align. To win the jackpot, all 6 digits must match. The jackpot is €100,000, with odds of 1 in 1 million.
Lotto 6aus49 prizes vary based on ticket sales and rollovers. If there are multiple winners, the prize is split among them. If no jackpot is won, it rolls over to the next drawing, allowing it to grow, but it cannot exceed 50 million euros. If the jackpot reaches the 50 million euro cap and remains unclaimed, it will stay at that amount for subsequent draws. Once it’s won, the jackpot for the next draw will start at a higher prize, not the base level.
